The authors of LEGION with dots in want me to slash Vril Dox so badly. I don't want Dox to be having sex with anyone. It's not that I don't like him, I'm just disturbed by the idea of him putting his evil 10th level mind towards getting some. But the authors want me to slash him SO BADLY.

Dox does not entertain useless fools. Yet he keeps Bek around, who is a good pilot but who does nothing but complain and is useless at best and trouble at worst. I have no problem with the character, but even Dox is wondering aloud why he puts up with this guy when he's useless. And then Bek gets some power and what does he do? He beats the crap out of anyone who gets between him and Dox, shouting "I want Dox! now! Now! NOW!" and "I want Dox! DoxDoxDox!" When he reaches Dox, he gets down on his knees and says "You have to help me!"
"What in the world makes you think I have to help you?"
He begs him for help and tugs at his clothing. And Dox puts a hand on his head and goes "There, there, Bek!" YOU WANT ME TO SLASH IT, DON'T YOU? (Don't believe me? I found scans!)

Dox's relationship with the Durlan is too odd too define. My understanding is that the Durlan "raised" him and gave him his only friend and what little empathy he has. Dox goes into a giant Brainy-esque hissy-fit at the idea of the Durlan leaving him ... and he has smuggled the Durlan in his body ... I'm not even sure who would be taking advantage of who, here.

Dox also gets into a fist fight with Lobo while wet and in his underwear, in front of a cheering crowd. Why would this ever be a good idea? I guess after one of your subordinates has raped and killed you, beating the shit out of anyone handy seems like a good idea ... (BTW, who thought having the protagonist raped, killed, and replaced by a clone was a good idea?)

I'll admit, I am enjoying this, if only for the weirdness of a Vril Dox who says "Oh yeeeeeah!" and "Suckers!" Though the new REBELs version does make dick jokes.

Augh, Dox kissed Lyrissa on the forehead! I may be shipping them now! But she doesn't deserve to be stuck with Dox! All right, no one in this comic is allowed to have sex ever. People reproduce by budding and random rape.

... Okay, I would have preferred to ship them. :(

I wish the aliens were more alien. At least they're remembering to color them blue or something most of the time. It is kind of nice when you get two aliens of different races and no one can figure out what the racial difference is but Dox, though. Something interesting from that storyline was that a girl effectively changed race as she grew up. She went from white-eyed (dominant race) to hued-eyed, so she was killed for it. An alien species where race can "change" with age is an idea I'd love to see explored more. They also had someone from a species who had no gender until adulthood. She transformed early on in the series to shiny, which makes her female!

Dox is being more likable but I can't help but feel that I don't have to like him or any of the characters and I'm mostly neutral to them. This is a nice and unique thing to find in mainstream comics.

Another thing you don't find much in mainstream comics: lots of badass women. The cover I've got open right now is the standard "villain standing over the bodies of the most important and powerful heroes" cover. It's three women and Dox. One of these women is non-human and has no boobs. ~ It makes me happy ~ is what I'm saying.

Stealth on Vril Dox: "Did you know he sulked for eight days once?"

WHY DID LOBO JUST KISS VRIL DOX? HELP, HELP, MY EYES!!

Stealth just kissed Vril Dox. That's weirder than Lobo kissing him.

Why am I the only one who loves Lyrl Dox? Guys, he could kick your ass back when he was a baby. An evil, ugly baby.

Oh damn, I love Lyrl and his horrible, complete lack of fashion sense. And his bizarre expressions. And his love-hate relationship with Dox. I'm not sure I want to like Dox, but I'm also not sure if I have an choice at this point. He facepalms when everyone is about to die. That's awesome.

Dox: I saved you, prepare to worship me. >:D

Lyrl: Hey, this being mind-controlled thing isn't working out, dad. I'm just gonna break your arm, betray this guy and skidoo.

It's hard not to love them.
